Chapter 6- How do you solve a problem like Cassandra?

Massive shout out's to Blinding Echo for the inspiration for the title. Without your little typo it would have probably been called something crap. A gold digging sociopathic chick in a cage will be winging it's way to you shortly.

Honorable mention also to Twallan, without his Master Controller none of the below would have been possible.

Warning! The following post contains scenes of violence that some viewers may find disturbing.

 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Slowly life in the Swift household returned to normal as they adjusted to the fact that Chambana was never coming back. Well, Gerado and Cassandra did anyway. Megan didn't care, Isabella already had a pretty good idea she wasn't coming back and Ella was too young to know the difference.

Isabella and Gerado's relationship went from strength to strength, even if Gerado occasionally did overdo it a bit during the pillow fights....

In her desire to make Gerado happy, Isabella has began searching for a cure for Cassandra's condition in her home made lab. Although the experiment's don't always go exactly to plan....

Meanwhile Megan, now she has reached the top of her career path, surprisingly has turned out to be a fantastic grandmother to Ella. Certainly a better grandmother than she ever was mother.

Cassandra has developed a surprising closeness with her friend Darrick. Technically he is Isabella's cousin, but as Isabella isn't actually related to her, she doesn't care. All she knows is that she likes this boy, and she is determined to have him. Things went well enough to start off with....

Until Cassandra wanted to take things to the next level that is....

"I'm sorry Cassandra, I'm just don't see you that way. That kiss... was a mistake I'm sorry" he explained. At which point Cassandra became a little hysterical. "Is it me? Is it because I like orange? What's wrong with orange?"

"Nothing! It's not you... it's me. We've just been friends for so long, and well... we are sort of related"

Dejected and feeling depressed, Cassandra leaves Darricks house. The old Ampitheatre where her mother's body was found is just opposite, so she decides to go and pay her respects.

"Mum, please help me. Why doesn't he like me? What's wrong with me?"

Still not feeling any better, she decides to head over to the Swimming Pool. A swim always helps her calm down. When she gets there she runs into an old family friend. Jabari Prudence. "Cassandra? Are you ok? you look unhappy"

Sobbing she goes into the full story, how Darrick toyed with her emotions, how he rejected her, and how she can't stop thinking about her mother. "Let me buy you a drink" he says sympathetically, "Club Opeu is just down the road."

As she stands there looking at him, a strange feeling creeps over her. She can't explain it, but there is a hunger, almost a craving. "I think... what I would like to drink probably isn't on sale at Club Opeu" she says slowly. Unsure how he will react.

"You mean.... you want to.. drink from me" He gulps nervously. "Well ok... but just from the wrist, and don't you go telling your Dad about this, he'll never forgive me."

As she draws upon his plasma, a great thirst creeps over Cassandra. She releases Jabari and smiles "Thank you, I needed that" and without a further word, she jumps into her car and drives off.

"Need plasma," she hisses to herself as she drives along. "that wasn't enough, need more!" the craving is strong now, her first taste of real plasma driving her vampiric senses wild. Not like that cheap imitation stuff she drank as a child. "Now where would there be Sims at this time of day.... but of course, Club Opeu."

Quickly driving to the club she storms in, her judgement clouded. Deep down she knows this is wrong, but the hunger is all she can think of. The first Sim she happens to see is Renae Greenwood. Unfortunately for Renae. With a snarl of hunger Cassandra leaps upon her, latching onto her neck, and draining her dry.

Unfortunately for Cassandra, although she may have a vampires thirst, she doesn't yet have their superior speed and strength. Draining a Sim in public is bound to attract attention, and when the police arrive, she is powerless to resist arrest. She is going to jail, for a long time.

When news reaches the Swifts, Isabella is shocked. She just stands there staring out of the window, waiting for Cassandra to come home. "She'll be back in a minute, she hasn't been arrested, that would ruin our perfect family. Perfect, perfect perfect."

Things are worse for Gerado. He has been promoted to Paramedic, and his partner in the ambulance was Renae's son. Although he still comes to work, and does his fair share on emergencies, Gerado can tell his mind is elsewhere.

Angry and frustrated, Gerado wants answers, and he know's just the vampire who can give them to him. He goes to see Jamie Sam-West.

"Why did this have to happen? You said Cassandra and Isabella's destinies are intertwined. How can they be if Cassandra is in jail? Why didn't you help Cassandra control the hunger?" he blurts out angrily.

"Gerado, please understand, I couldn't. Isabella's and Cassandra's destinies ARE intertwined, but the culmanation of that is not due for many years. This had to happen, I could no more prevent it than I could stop the sun from rising each morning. This is just as painful to me"
"Bullshit, do you know what? It's over. I never want to see you again! I hear your shagging that two-bit news anchor Felix Prudence anyway"

With that, he leaves. With more questions than he arrived with.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Slightly more serious than my usual style. I think it works though. I'd appreciate hearing what you think.

Basically, Cassandra glitched out on me. Whether it was a mod conflict or a EA vampire borkedness I don't know, but she had only 3 friendly interactions with adults, and she could drink and turn Adults. Also when she drank, although she got the "Sated" moodlet, her hunger didn't actually move. WHich is fair enough, because she wasn't supposed to be able to drink at all. Weirdly her Teen socials were fine.

As I couldn't just get rid of her, as I need her for a cameo in a later chapter I decided to move her out. Obviously she isn't really in jail, I just used the phone to kick her out. Technically she should have stayed in the house until she hit YA, but obviously she was glitched somewhere. It was a Challenge vs Story decision, and I chose story.

Felix Prudence gained a celebrity star, from befriending the only other Celebrity in Twinbrook, an SP immigrant who's name escapes me, and SP informed me that he and Jamie Sam-West had started dating. Obviously only Romantic Interests, as Gerado was still RI with her, but I used it in the story.

Anyway, please comment and let me know what you think :)

  3. I love it! Even though Isabella and Cassandra aren't related they both sure know how to get what they want, men and plasma!

Ditto Melissa, great way to work a glitch to your favor!

  4. I thank you :) I wasn't TOO upset about Cassandra glitching out, as it just brought forward my plans for her anyway.

Something like this was going to happen when she reached YA anyway, not to give too much away.

Suffice to say, this probably puts an end to her dream of becoming a cop....
